Reedy Fork Community Church in Browns Summit had been operating with a stone lot for years. Without a paved surface, striping was impossible, so on Sunday mornings, the church resorted to placing wheel stops throughout the lot to direct cars into makeshift parking spaces. As the congregation grew, with services at 9:00 and 10:45 AM, getting attendees in and out between services became increasingly difficult. The unpaved lot also created mud during wet weather and ice accumulation in winter, making conditions unsafe and slowing down an already tight turnaround between services. The church needed a paving contractor they could trust to design a layout that would maximize every available parking space and get it done without shutting down a single Sunday service.
Because Jordan Lambeth and his family attend Reedy Fork Community Church, the relationship was built on trust long before the project started. Lambeth Asphalt sat down with church leadership, walked the property, and developed a paving plan designed to get the most cars safely onto the lot. The design included angled parking to maximize capacity, ADA-accessible spaces, and an additional stone overflow area for staff parking on Sunday mornings. The crew started on a Monday, a scheduling standard Lambeth Asphalt holds for every church project, giving five full working days to complete the job and have the lot ready before Sunday services. The existing stone base was removed down to hard grade, the subgrade was wetted, regraded, and compacted, and approximately 380–400 tons of asphalt was laid across the lot. Hand work was used at the concrete apron tie-in along the state road to ensure a clean, safe transition for vehicles entering the property. Bible study groups were accommodated each evening by completing work at a reasonable hour and keeping portions of the lot accessible throughout the week. The crew held off on final paving until Monday so the church could hold services on Sunday without disruption. Once paving was complete, the lot was fully striped, parking stalls, directional arrows, ADA spaces, and crosshatching giving the church a functional, organized lot for the first time.
Reedy Fork Community Church opened its doors the following Sunday to a fully paved, freshly striped parking lot. The new surface eliminated the mud, the wheel stops, and the confusion between services. Attendees now move in and out efficiently, safely, and on a clean surface regardless of weather. Not a single service was missed or moved online during the entire project.
"This is a way that we were able to give back, to work with the church at very low rates, to be able to save them money so they could take whatever they saved and use it in other places within the community." — Jordan Lambeth, Founder
A church's parking lot is often the first and last experience a visitor has with a congregation. When that lot is muddy, unorganized, or difficult to navigate, it creates a barrier, especially for first-time attendees. Lambeth Asphalt doesn't just pave parking lots for churches. They design them to help congregations grow. For Reedy Fork Community Church, that meant maximizing every square foot of available space, keeping the project on a schedule that respected the church calendar, and delivering a finished product that serves the community every Sunday morning.
