Timeline: 1 week, 2 phase project completed 08/24/2026
The existing parking surface at Lawsonville Road Baptist Church had reached the end of its serviceable life. Rather than paving over a compromised base, the scope called for a full removal — ripping out the existing surface entirely to assess and reset the stone foundation underneath. Properly preparing the base before laying new asphalt is the difference between a surface that holds and one that begins failing within a few seasons. The back section of the church property required careful grading to ensure drainage performed correctly once the new surface was in place.
Lambeth Asphalt began with full excavation of the existing surface, then graded and wet-set the stone base to create a stable, compacted foundation before any asphalt was laid. Wet-setting ensures the stone locks tight and won't shift or settle under repeated traffic loads. Once the base was confirmed sound — no severe structural issues were found — the crew moved into paving, laying fresh hot mix asphalt from Sharp Brothers in Greensboro. The surface came down clean, with consistent grade throughout.
Lawsonville Road Baptist Church's parking area came out of the project with a fully rebuilt surface — new stone base, proper drainage grades, and fresh asphalt throughout — completed in a matter of days and ready for regular use.
"I'm trying to make a statement, let them know kind of what we do. Just show them that once we have a job, we're able to start it, take it from start to finish without any issues, and be of less invasiveness to all of their customers and tenants as we can possibly be." — Jordan Lambeth, Founder
Community institutions like churches depend on safe, well-maintained grounds for their congregation and guests. A parking surface rebuilt from the base up — not patched or overlaid over a failing foundation — is one that serves the community for decades rather than years. Lambeth Asphalt brought the same full-depth approach to Lawsonville Road Baptist that they apply to every commercial project: get the base right first, and the surface takes care of itself.
